Friday’s win has secured a spot for Palestine in the AFC Asian Cup, the region’s biggest football event and the second oldest continental football championship in the world, to be held in Australia in 2015.
Palestine won against Philippines 1 nil in Friday’s match. The single goal, seen in the 58th minute, was scored by Palestinian striker Ashraf Al-Fawaghr. Philippines team pressed hard after Palestine’s goal, but Palestine held a better ball possession and an overall control of the game for the better half of the match.
A large number of Maldivian were cheering for their muslim Palestinian brothers on Friday. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas telephoned President Yameen during the match and thanked him for Maldives’ support for his team, President’s Office Spokesperson Muaz Ali revealed on Friday.
Palestine passed through the tournament by winning all 5 matches without allowing a single goal against them. Having moved to the AFC Asian Cup, Palestine will first face the tournament’s four-time champion Japan, and later Iraq and Jordan.

ފިލިޕީންސް އަތުން ފަލަސްތީން މޮޅުވީ މެޗުގެ ދެވަނަ ހާފުގައި ލިބުނު ހިލޭޖެހުމަކުން އެ ޓީމުގެ ފޯވަޑް އަޝްރަފް އަލް ފަވަގްރާ ޖެހި ލަނޑަކުންނެވެ.
"މިއީ ވަރަށް ތާރީޚީ މެޗެއް އަދި ވަރަށް ބޮޑު ކާމިޔާބެއް،" މެޗަށް ފަހު ޖަމާލް ބުންޏެވެ. "އަހަރެމެން މީގެ ކުރިން މި މުބާރާތުގައި ވާދަކުރި ދެ އަހަރުގައި ލިބުނު ތަޖުރިބާތަކުގެ ބޭނުން ހިފައިފި. އެ ދެ މުބާރާތުގައި އަހަރެމެންނަށް ވަރަށް ގިނަ ގޯސްތައް ހެދުނު. އެ ތަޖުރިބާތަކުގެ ބޭނުން ހިފައިގެން އަހަރަމެންނަށް މި ފަހަރު ތައްޓާ ހަމައަށް މި ދެވުނީ."
ފަލަސްތީން ވަނީ މީގެ ކުރިން ދެ ފަހަރު ޗެލެންޖް ކަޕްގައި ވާދަކޮށްފަ އެވެ. ބަންގްލަދޭޝްގައި 2006 ވަނަ އަހަރު ބޭއްވި ފުރަތަމަ ޗެލެންޖް ކަޕުން ފަލަސްތީން ކެޓީ ކުއާޓާ ފައިނަލުންނެވެ. އަދި 2012 ވަނަ އަހަރު ނޭޕާލްގައި އޮތް މުބާރާތުން ފަލަސްތީން ކެޓީ ސެމީ ފައިނަލުންނެވެ. އެ މުބާރާތުގެ ތިން ވަނަ ހޮވި މެޗުގައި ފިލިޕީންސް އަތުން ބަލިވުމުން ފަލަސްތީން ފުއްދާލަން ޖެހުނީ ހަތަރު ވަނަ މަގާމާ އެކު އެވެ.
މި އަހަރުގެ ޗެލެންޖް ކަޕް ފަލަސްތީނުން ކާމިޔާބުކުރީ އެއްވެސް މެޗަކުން ބަލިނުވެ އެވެ. އަދި މުޅި މުބާރާތުގައި ވެސް އެ ޓީމު ކޮޅަށް ލަނޑެއް ނުވަދެ އެވެ. ކުޅުނު ފަސް މެޗުގެ ތެރެއިން ހަތަރު މެޗުން މޮޅުވިއިރު، އެއް މެޗު ވަނީ އެއްވަރުވެފަ އެވެ. އެއީ ރާއްޖެއާ ދެކޮޅަށް ކުޅުނު މެޗެވެ.
މިއީ ޗެލެންޖް ކަޕްގެ ފަހު މުބާރާތަކަށްވުމުން، މި ކާމިޔާބާ އެކު ފަލަސްތީނަށް ވަނީ އޭޝިއާގެ ފުޓްބޯޅައިގެ ތާރީޚުގެ ތެރެއިން ޚާއްސަ ޖާގައެއް ލިބިފަ އެވެ.
ފައިނަލް މެޗުގައި ގިނަ އަދަދެއްގެ ދިވެހިން ވަނީ ދަނޑަށް ވަދެ، ފަލަސްތީންގެ ޓީމަށް ތަރުހީބު ދީފަ އެވެ. މެޗަށް ފަހު ފަލަސްތީންގެ ރައީސް މަހުމޫދު ައައްބާސް ވަނީ ރައީސް އަބްދުﷲ ޔާމީނަށް ގުޅުއްވައި، ފަލަސްތީންގެ ޓީމަށް ދިވެހިން ދިން ސަޕޯޓަށް ޝުކުރު އަދާކުރައްވައިފަ އެވެ.
ޖަމާލް ވެސް ވަނީ ދިވެހި ސަޕޯޓަރުންނަށް ޝުކުރު އަދާކޮށްފަ އެވެ. އަދި އޭނާ ވަނީ މި ކާމިޔާބީ އޭނާގެ އާއިލާ އާއި ރަހުމަތްތެރިންނާއި ފަލަސްތީންގެ ރައްޔިތުންނާއި އިޒްރޭލުގެ ޖަލުތަކުގައި ތިބި ފަލަސްތީންގެ ކުޅުންތެރިންނަށް ޚާއްސަކޮށްފަ އެވެ.
"ރާއްޖޭގެ ސަޕޯޓަރުންނަށް ވަރަށް ބޮޑަށް ޝުކުރު އަދާކުރަން. އަދި ރާއްޖޭން އަހަރެމެންނަށް އަދާކުރި މެހެމާންދާރީ އަށް ޝުކުރު އަދާކުރަން. މި ގައުމުގެ މަތިން ދުވަހަކު ވެސް ހަނދާން ނުނެތޭނެ. ރާއްޖެ އަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކުރުމުގެ ފުރުސަތު އަދި ލިބޭނެކަމަށް އުންމީދުކުރަން،" 2011 ވަނަ އަހަރު ފަލަސްތީންގެ ޓީމާ ހަވާލުވި ޖަމާލް ބުންޏެވެ. "ފަލަސްތީން ފުޓްބޯލް އެސޯސިއޭޝަންގެ ރައީސް ޖެނެރަލް ޖިބްރީލް ރަޖޫބް އަށް މަރުހަބާ. އޭނާ އަކީ އަބަދު ވެސް އަހަރެންގެ ފަހަތުގައި ހުރި މީހެއް. އަދި އިޒްރޭލްގެ ޖަލުތަކުގައި ތިބި ފަލަސްތީންގެ ކުޅުންތެރިންނަށް ވެސް މަރުހަބާ."
ފީފާ އިން 1998 ވަނަ އަހަރު ފަލަސްތީން ބަލައިގަތުމުން ވޯލްޑް ކަޕާއި އޭޝިއަން ކަޕަށް ކޮލިފައިވުމުގެ ފުރުސަތު އެ ޓީމަށް ލިބުނު ނަމަވެސް، ފުޓްބޯޅައިގައި ކުރިއަށް ދިއުމަށް ގިނަ ހުރަސްތަކެއް ވަނީ ކުރިމަތިވެފަ އެވެ. ހުޅަނގު އައްސޭރި އާއި ގާޒާއާ ދެމެދު ދަތުރުކުރުމުގައި އިޒްޒޭލް އިން އަޅާފައިވާ ހުރަސްތަކާ ގުޅިގެން މީގެ ކުރިން ފަލަސްތީންގެ ޓީމަށް ވަނީ ހުރިހާ ކުޅުންތެރިން ހަމަކޮށްގެން ފަރިތަކުރުމަށް ވެސް ދަތިތަކެއް ކުރިމަތިވެފަ އެވެ. އިޒްރޭލްގެ ބޯޑަރު ހުރަސްކުރަން އުޅުނު ފަލަސްތީން ޓީމުގެ ބައެއް ކުޅުންތެރިން ވަނީ މީގެ ކުރިން ހައްޔަރު ވެސް ކޮށްފަ އެވެ.
ޗެލެންޖް ކަޕްގެ ތައްޔާރީތަކުގައި ވެސް ފަލަސްތީނަށް ދަތިތަކެއް ކުރިމަތިވި އެވެ. ގަތަރުގައި މިދިޔަ މަހު އޮތް ޓްރެއިނިން ކޭމްޕަކަށް ފަހު އެނބުރި ފަލަސްތީނަށް ދިޔަ މަގުމަތީގައި ފަލަސްތީންގެ ކޯޗު ޖަމާލް އާއި ޓީމުގެ އެސިސްޓެންޓް ކޯޗުންނަށް ހުޅަނގު އައްސޭރި އަށް ވަނުމުގެ ފުރުސަތު އިޒްރޭލުން ނުދިނެވެ. އެހެންވެ ޖަމާލް ވެސް ވަނީ ޓީމާ ދުރުގައި ދެ ހަފުތާއެއްހާ ދުވަހު ހުންނަންޖެހިފަ އެވެ. އަދި އޭރު ޓީމުގައި ހުރި ކުޅުންތެރިއެއް ކަމަށްވާ ސަމާހް މަރައްބާ ވަނީ ހައްޔަރުކޮށްފަ އެވެ. އޭނާ އަދިވެސް ދުލެއް ނުކުރެ އެވެ.

"ވަރަށް ގިނަ ކުޅުންތެރިން އެބަތިބި މި ފަހަރު ޓީމުގައި ބައިވެރިނުވެވުނު. އޭއެފްސީގައި ކުޅުންތެރިން ރަޖިސްޓްރީކުރުމަށް ވެސް ދަތިތަކެއް ކުރިމަތިވި. އެކަމަކު އެ ކުޅުންތެރިން އޭޝިއަން ކަޕްގެ ޓީމުގައި ހިމެނިއްޖެ ނަމަ، ފަލަސްތީންގެ ޓީމު އިތުރަށް ވަރުގަދަވާނެ،" ޖަމާލް ބުންޏެވެ.
އޭޝިއަން ކަޕްގައި ފަލަސްތީނާއި ޖޯޑުން ބައްދަލުކުރާ މެޗަކީ ޖޯޑުންގެ ރައްޔިތެއް ކަމަށްވާ ޖަމާލަށް ވެސް ޚާއްސަ މެޗެކެވެ.
"އަހަންނަށް ޔަގީން ޖޯޑުންގެ ރައްޔިތުން އުފާވާނެކަން އެ ގައުމަށް ނިސްބަތްވާ ކޯޗެއް މި ހޯދި ކާމިޔާބަށްޓަކައި،" ޖަމާލް ބުންޏެވެ.

The Maldives on Thursday beat regional champion Afghanistan to win the bronze medal in the ongoing AFC Challenge Cup.
The 0-0 score at the end of the 90-minute game led to two 15-minute halves of extra time. Afghanistan scored the opener during the second half of extra time, with an impressive goal by the Maldives' Ali 'Sentey' Faris following not long after.
The 1-1 score at the end of extra time led to penalty shootouts.
The historic win for the Maldives – defeating the champion of the most recent SAFF Championship and winning the first ever AFC medal – was sealed by Ibrahim 'Appo' Fazeel. The penalty score was 8-7.
Afghanistan and Maldives have played against each other on three previous occasions, all in group stage; the SAFF Gold Cup in Pakistan in 2005, the SAFF Championship in Bangladesh in 2009 and the SAFF Championship in Nepal in 2012.
Eight teams participated in the Challenge Cup; Myanmar, Maldives, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Afghanistan, Philippines, Laos and Turkmenistan.

In the month of April 2012, FIFA annoucned 60 referees list for this campaign which reduced to 38 in September 2012. The governing body of football also increased the prize for these match managers with almost double than that of 2006 FIFA World Cup.
This is the list of 26 referees for 2014 World Cup which is beginning from 12 June. Each referee will get 2 assistant referees for the final games of Brazil world cup. Each of these will get total of 50,000 US Dollars as prize money after completion of FIFA World Cup. In world cup 2006 which was organized in Germany, each one got money prize of $23,000 which is raised to $50,000 in this tournament.
